Those Who Should Write Medical School Recommendation Letters

So, now that you have the application done and you have your essays written to get into medical school that leaves you with one more part to accomplish. You ask what this is. Well every medical school asks for medical school recommendation letters to help them get an idea of what others think about you and your work. So, who are some of those people they ask to hear from? When it comes to this you need to give these people the list of medical schools that you are seeking

First of all, you need to think of that advisor who has taken you under their wing to help you to get to this point. They have seen you fill out all of this and that and do what it takes. They know your heart. That is the first person you should ask. They will be a great help.

The second desired person would be a science professor. Now, we know that you have a ton of science classes so which one does you choose? When looking at medical school gpa you pick that which gave you the best grade, but was also the most challenging. This shows that you achieved with time and effort.

You should have been asked to do clinical or even research. There again, you should in cooperate these individuals to do a recommendation letter on your behalf. It shows that you work well with others when they have positive things to say about you. Teamwork is needed when you go into the medical field, but we do not think we have to tell you about that.

You might even have one professor who is over you. They might refer to this as your major professor. It is always helpful to have them write a medical school recommendation letter for you as well. They can focus more on your academics and such. They know how well you did. They know where you need to improve. With their help. You can easily get in. Yet there are still more people you could get to write that letter for you. There is one last in which we will tell you about.

The last person that you want to write one for you is current employers. They can tell them about your dependability and much more. Showing that you have a job shows that you have been doing something not just slacking off. It also shows that you have a beginning point for paying for the classes.

The number of letters you need will vary. Some only require a few. Other more prestigious or those that are down to only a select few might ask for quite a bit more. It is wise to always ask even though it is in print most of the time. This way you are well prepared. It also shows that you have interest in succeeding. Most of them may want up to four in most cases, but again some want more.

At least now you have an idea of who to get to write your recommendation letters. This will get you the best chances if you go with these people. So good luck as you see what others say about you. This could be the best thing for some people. For others it might show a side that you do not want people to see, but this is why they ask of these.

  2. Should you apply to medical school? Is a career as a doctor for you? Sure there are lots of pluses to being a doctor, first and foremost the prestige – you get to be called “Doctor” and everyone knows that you’re the best of the best because not only did you get into medical school, but you finished. But there it takes more to succeed in medical school than simply a desire to be called “Doctor.” Is medical school and a career in medicine for you?

  7. @chels I know what you mean, its hard to find good help these days. People now days just don’t have the work ethic they used to have. I mean consider whoever wrote this post, they must have been working hard to write that good and it took a good bit of their time I am sure. I work with people who couldn’t write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.
