The odds that this allergic reaction will trigger your immune system and kill the mites are slim. The most likely situation is that you will have to go to your doctor. Scabies symptoms can often exist for a period without the person knowing what is going on. And to make matters more complicated, many strains of the scabies mite exist. Most strains of scabies mites will have symptoms that aren’t the same as other strains. However, the one symptom that is found in all the different strains is extreme itching. Your immune system doesn’t like foreign bodies invading your skin and, as a result, it forms antibodies to fight the foreign invaders. This “war” on your behalf is what causes the intense itching you will experience. The wisest course of action, when you have these acute itching patches of skin, is to make an appointment to see your doctor.
